The use of machinery that does not have CE marked can lead to many headaches and expose plant workers to various risks or dangers of greater or lesser magnitude. Machines without the aforementioned marking will be presumed not to have passed the controls established in Directive 93/68/EEC and the 2006/42/EC in terms of safety and which can therefore cause a workplace accident that endangers the lives of workers or damages the facilities.
However, they not only pose a danger to operators who deal with them, but also, the use of machinery without CE certification constitutes an infringement of the law and, consequently, the appropriate fines will be applied in each case.
How do I get the CE mark?
Let's remember that it is the manufacturer (or their representative established in the European Union) who has the obligation to restore the product's conformity, although they can always rely on or seek advice from specialised companies in Industrial Safety. These companies have years of experience and specialised teams in assessing machine risks, generating all necessary documentation, and implementing the corrective measures required to comply with current regulations, finally drawing up the declaration of conformity.
