Energy efficiency: a strategic decision with measurable results
Investing in Energy efficiency is not simply a matter of environmental responsibility — it is sound business management. At Grupo TICE Ingenieros, we see it exactly that way. This investment was driven by a rigorous internal analysis of how to optimise resources and achieve sustained reductions in operational costs. Grupo TICE Ingenieros lo entendemos así. Esta inversión nació de un análisis interno riguroso sobre cómo optimizar recursos y reducir costes operativos de forma sostenida.
First results, in figures
The numbers speak for themselves. In the first eight months of operation our installation generated 19.180 kWh. A figure that exceeds initial projections by 65%This reflects both the exceptional solar radiation conditions in Valencia and the soundness of the decision we made.
Savings that translate into real monetary value
The impact on our electricity bills has been inmmediate. 53% of our energy demand is now met by self-generated power, equivalent to an annual saving of €3,356.70 in self-consumed energy. The surplus energy we do not consume on-site is exported to th grid, generating an additional €497.65 through feed-in compensation. In total, In total, savings of over €3,854 per year.
Valencia: a prime location for solar self-consumption
The location of our offices in Valencia is no minor factor in this analysis. The Valencian Community receives more than 2.700 hours of sunshine per year, placing it among the regions with the highest photovoltaic potential in Europe. This geographical advantage has translated into tangible results: during the summer months, our installation significantly outperformed projections, with June, July and August recording monthly outputs of between 3.268 and 3.576 kWh — well above initial estimates.
The 59% of all energy we generate is consumed directly on-site, while the remaining surplus7.834 kWh over the monitoring period — was offset financially through the grid. This balance confirms that the daytime consumption profile of an active engineering firm aligns perfectly with the solar generation cycle.
Our commitment to sustainability extends beyond solar panels
The photovoltaic installation is the most visible step in a broader commitment. Grupo TICE Ingenieros we work across highly demanding sectors — food and beverage, automotive, chemical, logistics and plastics. We understand that sustainability is not achieved through a single initiative. It requires a culture of continuous improvement applied at every level of the organisation.
Reducing our carbon footprint: an ongoing priority
Reducing our carbon footprint and optimising resource consumption are enduring priorities, not one-off targets. They are the result of well-founded decisions aligned with a long-term vision. This installation is a milestone on that journey — not the final destination.
Energy efficiency and ESG standards: the future is already here
ESG standards are no longer optional. They are a genuine evaluation criterion for clients, investors and public authorities alike. Companies that have not embedded sustainability into their operations will find their opportunities increasingly limited. We act accordingly — and that is precisely why, at Grupo TICE Ingenieros we continue to advance our energy efficiency.
A further step in our roadmap as a responsible business
At Grupo TICE Ingenieros we do not view energy efficiency as a one-off project, but as a direction of travel. The photovoltaic installation at our Valencia offices demonstrates that it is possible to grow, operate and compete in an increasingly sustainable manner — without compromising the rigour and high standards that define us as an engineering firm.
The data validates the decision. The strategy sets the course. And our commitment to continuing along this path is, now more than ever, part of who we are as a company.
