However, many of these machines were designed before current safety regulations, such as the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.grupo-tice.com\/en\/adaptation-of-industrial-machinery-to-royal-decree-1215-97\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Royal Decree 1215\/97<\/a>, which represents a high risk for operators if not properly maintained.<\/p><p>In this article, we analyse a practical case that we recently carried out of <span style=\"color: #21bfd8;\"><strong data-start=\"771\" data-end=\"810\">Industrial machinery suitability<\/strong><\/span> ancient, in which the die-cutting process has been automated by a <span style=\"color: #21bfd8;\"><strong data-start=\"886\" data-end=\"915\">bespoke pneumatic piston<\/strong><\/span>. During the visit, it was detected that several machines, including an eccentric press, did not meet the minimum safety requirements established by the regulations.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-b08568e elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"b08568e\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Critical press points:\n<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-39cc641 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"39cc641\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<ul><li data-start=\"1532\" data-end=\"1590\">Mechanical pedal-activated die-cutting system.<\/li><li data-start=\"1532\" data-end=\"1590\">Continuous feeding of sheet metal from a coil, through a shear to the mould.<\/li><li data-start=\"1532\" data-end=\"1590\">Need for access for adjustments and mould changes, which increased exposure to dangerous moving parts.<\/li><li data-start=\"1532\" data-end=\"1590\">Absence of <strong data-start=\"1811\" data-end=\"1835\">security fencing<\/strong> and modern emergency stop devices such as a <strong data-start=\"1893\" data-end=\"1915\">Emergency slide<\/strong>.<\/li><li data-start=\"1532\" data-end=\"1590\">Limited space around the machine to incorporate guarding solutions.<\/li><\/ul><p>This scenario not only contravened Royal Decree 1215\/97, but also posed an unacceptable risk to operators, especially during maintenance or adjustment phases of the press.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-2a79f7c elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"2a79f7c\" data-element_type=\"section\" #21bfd8;\"><strong data-start=\"2296\" data-end=\"2357\">Suitability of eccentric presses in accordance with Royal Decree 1215\/97<\/strong><\/span>, fulfilling the criteria of the <span style=\"color: #21bfd8;\"><strong data-start=\"2394\" data-end=\"2421\">Machinery regulations<\/strong><\/span> without compromising operational efficiency. To achieve this, a comprehensive solution was designed and installed, combining:<\/p><ul data-start=\"2522\" data-end=\"2834\"><li class=\"\" data-start=\"2522\" data-end=\"2580\"><p class=\"\" data-start=\"2524\" data-end=\"2580\">Pneumatic piston die-cutting automation.<\/p><\/li><li class=\"\" data-start=\"2581\" data-end=\"2656\"><p class=\"\" data-start=\"2583\" data-end=\"2656\"><a style=\"letter-spacing: 0px;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.grupo-tice.com\/en\/iso-13849-safety-fencing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Security fencing<\/a>\u00a0to measure with aluminium profile and polycarbonate.<\/p><\/li><li class=\"\" data-start=\"2657\" data-end=\"2714\"><p class=\"\" data-start=\"2659\" data-end=\"2714\">Control panel with electrical safety features.<\/p><\/li><li class=\"\" data-start=\"2715\" data-end=\"2772\"><p class=\"\" data-start=\"2717\" data-end=\"2772\">Fixed and movable guards according to UNE-EN ISO 14120:2016.<\/p><\/li><li class=\"\" data-start=\"2773\" data-end=\"2834\"><p class=\"\" data-start=\"2775\" data-end=\"2834\">Control system in accordance with standard UNE-EN 60204-1:2019.<\/p><\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-cd7da85 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"cd7da85\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-f36713d\" data-id=\"f36713d\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4466f66 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"4466f66\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Die-cutting automation<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-983bbe9 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"983bbe9\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-bf0c90c\" data-id=\"bf0c90c\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-0aae469 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"0aae469\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2876\" data-end=\"3190\">One of the key elements of the project was the replacement of the mechanical pedal with a <span style=\"color: #21bfd8;\"><strong data-start=\"2961\" data-end=\"2997\">double acting pneumatic cylinder<\/strong><\/span> custom-made. This component allows <span style=\"color: #21bfd8;\"><strong data-start=\"3042\" data-end=\"3068\">automatizar el proceso<\/strong><\/span> die-cutting, eliminating the need for direct operator interaction and reducing the risk of entrapment.<\/p><p class=\"\" data-start=\"3192\" data-end=\"3458\">The new system is controlled from a control panel that includes a mode selector (manual\/automatic). Following an emergency stop or door opening, the system requires a <span style=\"color: #21bfd8;\"><strong data-start=\"4598\" data-end=\"4615\">Rearm manual<\/strong><\/span> to resume operation, thereby minimising the possibility of unexpected starts.<\/p><p class=\"\" data-start=\"4702\" data-end=\"4820\">This functionality is essential for meeting the criteria of the <span style=\"color: #21bfd8;\"><strong data-start=\"4768\" data-end=\"4778\">RD1215<\/strong> <\/span>and with the aforementioned harmonised standards.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-f46cd7a elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"f46cd7a\" data-element_type=\"section\"
